The best ideas for hosting a modern and fun One in a Melon 1st Birthday Party.

One in a Melon is a modern and fun theme for celebrating your child’s 1st birthday.

I’ve pulled together some of my favorite ideas for having a Watermelon themed birthday party.  Shopping small is so important to me as a consumer and business owner, so all of the ideas featured below are in my local St. Louis metro area.

My favorite party planning tip is to host during a non-meal time (like 3pm) and only serve sweet treats and light snacks.

PARTY DECOR

I love planning and hosting birthday parties, but as a busy mom I don’t want to spend a ton of time decorating. I use the invitation theme throughout the party for decorations – it’s easy to pull together and looks cohesive.

My favorite “decoration” I include for all of the kids’ parties I plan is a Milestone Board. I love documenting the milestones and favorites of one year olds – they change so much in a year!
